I have recently gotten involved with a website called 500 px. It is set up to be a place where photographers can show their work to other photographers. People can comment on your work, mark it as one they like, or mark it as a favorite of theirs. They can also "follow" you much like in Twitter. Then, when they click on favorites, the work they chose as a favorite appears.
I am fairly new at it so I have to make more relationships there before I can get the full benefits. I have a few people following me so at least I have gotten started. I am trying to put a variety of work on it. I have posted abstracts, landscapes, and fine art photographs. I have gotten many comments, but not of the depth I was expecting. Most of the comments I see are "great" or "love it". I am trying to be more in depth with my comments. Part of the problem, I am sure, is the shortage of time for most people.
I have seen some photographers whose work is superb. I am following them to see what they come up with. There is a girl from Russia (?) who does still lifes and they are not just beautiful, but bring back a simpler time. There are photographers there from all over the world and you don't have to join to look at their work. I don't work for them or get any kind of pay from them. I am just a beginning member who thought you might like to check out the work of photographers from all over the world.
Take a look.
